A Winning Stone
The Platinum Guild International revealed the winners of its annual design contest at the 2014 JCK Las Vegas last Sunday with New York-based Oscar Heyman winning Best in Color and Best In Show.
More than 40 editors from leading consumer, bridal and trade publications reviewed and voted on the entries at an event held May 6 in New York City leading to Oscar Heyman winning the Editor’s Choice “Best in Color” award for its spectacular Mexican Fire Opal ring.
Then, at JCK Las Vegas 2014 on May 30 and 31, buyers visited the various exhibitors and voted on the nominated designs. Based on the accumulation of all votes, the Oscar Heyman ring was awarded “Best in Show”.
The ring features a 10.12 carat Mexican Fire Opal displaying a brilliant play of bright broad flashes of spectral colors with a platinum mounting featuring 18 round diamonds and is as rare as it is stunning.
