June 2013

June 14, 2013

June is “busting out all over”… and the butterfly is big this season.

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

Cultural lore honors the butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis. In many cultures the butterfly is associated with the soul.

Love is like a butterfly: It goes where it pleases

and it pleases wherever it goes.

~ Author Unknown

In Greek mythology, Psyche (which literally translates to mean “soul”) is represented in the form of a butterfly. Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros (the Greek god of love) shared an endlessly passionate bond together – both

hopelessly in love with

the other.

Caterpillars do all the work; butterflies get all the publicity. ~ George Carlin

A fallen blossom

returning to the bough, I thought

But no, a butterfly.
